Having previously attended European and UK events, our growth in the Americas has made the trip to the states more impactful.

With around 4,000 people in attendance, it provided a great opportunity to meet with our clients, new prospects and our Epicor contacts. And as Epicor’s flagship event, this is where the big news and developments will be premiered.

Keynote highlights – Cognitive ERP

The welcome keynotes were delivered by the Epicor senior leadership team. Vaibhav Vohra, Epicor President, set the conference themes of AI, growth and the human elements via a personal story of comic books, family and building community through the themes. Followed by Steve Murphy, CEO, who got more into the challenges facing the manufacturing and distribution sectors with a challenging commentary around AI and posing the question “has the Turing test been surpassed?”.

Product Future – AI empowerment

AI is the key topic for everyone in make, move and sell industries and beyond. Epicor’s approach is little more cautious than other technology companies. Rather than huge overarching LLM’s, they are focusing on the time consuming problems that can be streamlined for their customers. A motto of “10X improvement can bring 100X innovation” was a key statement and the deep relevant and specific data set are the foundation of the cognitive ERP concept.

The Epicor Prism demo was key to this message. Prism, an agentic AI,  aims to empower users, not take away responsibility. Streamlining information retrieval, providing visual analysis and rapid response to scenario changes and surfacing data predictively.

The source of Prism’s power is the Grow Data Platform. Acquired in 2022, Grow is a BI solution that can process large volumes of data. The scalability and speed at which Grow can process and manipulate data is very impressive.

Discussions in a separate breakout hinted to Grow being used as a data source for other companion products beyond Prism. While currently only one way from ERP, Prism and other agentic AI solutions could provide those integrations for data to go back into ERP in the future.

Ecommerce

While ecom didn’t feature highly, in the keynote and product launch a piece of new functionality was hinted as a future offering.

Epicor CPQ is a hugely powerful tool for ecommerce and quote enablement. However, to get the most from the tool formally known as KBMax, requires 3rd rendered models which can be both resource and cost intensive. During a demo, a product drawing was taken from ERP and moved to EPQ with AI providing the 3D render.

Elsewhere at the conference, ECQ was presented by Graceland Portable Buildings. Their business case and post live impact showed some huge commercial gains including a 66% improvement quoting efficiency. CPQ had a 17% lead conversion rate on an AOV ~$7,500 and an estimated incremental revenue of $8M.

Epicor Commerce also had a featured session, focusing on the signature tier of the product. There was a lot of positive engagement in the session as delegates were clearly seeing how it presented an opportunity for their businesses. There were queries that signature is not able to currently support suggesting there is still a place for the advanced solution for more digitally mature businesses that want full flexibility and customisation.

Sparks Action

Other highlights included Gene Marks addressing the only topic that competes with AI right now – Tariffs. His insights and recommendations offered some light on a difficult challenge for so many businesses dealing with US borders.

It was impossible not to get caught up in the energy of Deion “Prime Time” Sanders as he gave his motivational speech, before the full day of sessions. It was impressive how many customer led presentations there were, showing the positivity to the Epicor product suite.

Coach Prime @ Epicor Insights

Insights is a flagship event for anyone in the make, move and sell industries and we’re thankful to the whole Epicor team that put it together. The European event is happening in June ‘25 and I’m sure it will bring the same value, if not the scale.
